This is an Educational Game
Mactivity's CD-ROM nr 10 advice: This application did
not run on a b/w 68030 processor running under System
7.1, so try this one only on Macintoshes running under
System 6. No guarantee.
*File menu:
*Send random; send random characters specified by Group
menu.
*Send a File; open and send a TEXT file.
*Send a File Again; send the same file again.
This program can read any TEXT file, but the interval
of carriage returns should be less than 256 characters
to send correctly. You can open large file, but normally
the latter part is truncated (If it is too large, an
alert box appears).
*Edit menu:
*Cut; Copy; Paste; Clear; Actually these menus do not
work.
*Preference; change the background color (work only
in color Macs), more detailed settings etc. These informations
are stored in the Preference folder of System Folder.
*Group menu:
*All; Send all characters including alphabetic (A-Z),
Numeric (0-9), Punctuations (.,?/). *Alphabetic + Numeric;
send A-Z and 0-9
*Alphabetic; send all alphabetic characters.
*ETAOI-VKXJQZ; send specific characters. Orders in menu
indicate how often these characters are used. However,
"Q" is often used in amateur radio :)
*Numeric; send all numeric characters.
*12345;
*67890;
*Punctuations: send punctuation characters often used.
*Abbreviations; send abbreviations which are often used
in amateur radio. You can customize these words or
sentences using ResEdit. Open STR# resource ID 300.
More detailed informations are described in "sample
file".
*Custom Characters; Input characters that you want to
practice. Input only A-Z(a-z), 0-9, .,?/
<Key typing mode>
If you type alphabetic or numeric keys, you can hear
the morse codes of them. This function is for beginners.
<About Main Screen>
*Send button; To hit this is equivalent to select "Send
random" from menu or to hit "return"
or "enter" key.
*Each random string is started with BT(no space between
B and T) and terminated with AR(w/o space).
*If you want to interrupt, hit any key.
<About Scroll buttons>
Several parameters for morse code generation can be
changed by each scroll buttons. Can you guess the function
of each button by Icon?
<DEFAULT SETTING>
If you want to restore to default setting, remove the
"Morse Master Pref" file in the Preference
folder of System Folder. Then start the application
again.
